Special attention is paid to choosing and application of the raw materials. There are very precise and thoroughly controlled normatives subscribed for those materials, regarding their physical, chemical, reological and other characteristics. There are constant scientific researches in this field. "Industrija Elektroporcelana" uses the following raw materials:

Clays

They are used as plastificators in the production process - kaolin clays with low percentage of Fe2 O3..

Kaolins

Enriched kaolins with low Fe2 O3 and relatively low percentage of Si O2 and feldspath are used in the production of electroporcelain.

Feldspath

Feldspaths of potassium type are used for smelting, in the process of forming "glass-phase" in electroporcelain.

Siliceous sand

Siliceous sand with extremely high percentage of SiO2 and very small contents of Fe2O3 is used as filler in the production of electroporcelain.

Alumina

It is the most important factor in hardness of electroporcelain, and it contains very low percentage of soda

Talc (3MgO x 4SiO2 x H2O)

Presents basic raw material for producing steatite and cordierite. Special attention is paid to controlling purity of the basic mineral and granulometric content.

General

More than 50 basic raw materials and other materials are used in producing electroporcelain of steatite and cordierite in IEP. All of them are strictly controlled.
